A 10-15 minute walk from the house is Downtown Libertyville. Stroll through picturesque Main Street’s 19th-century buildings. Shop local at quaint shops, boutiques, and art galleries. If you enjoy antiquing, check out Reclaimed Artisans for its furniture, home decor, and accessories from over 80 vendors and seasonal outdoor shows. Don’t miss the town’s events, like First Fridays, car shows, and weekly farmer's markets.
Independence Grove Forest Preserve features over 1000 acres for outdoor recreation. Explore 7.5 miles of trails around the 115-acre lake. You can rent bikes or boats from the marina, relax at a summer concert, or enjoy a craft brew at the lakeside Beer Garden.
Spend the day hiking or biking on Libertyville’s 8 miles of bike paths. The parks in Libertyville have lakes, athletic fields, ice skating, gardens, picnic areas, sledding hills, and more. On the Des Plaines River Trail, Adler Memorial Park features a nine-hole disc golf course as well.
