Serenity at the Lake is our quaint lakeside cabin, perfect for a Couples Getaway, a Family Vacation, a Fisherman's Retreat, Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, Shawnee Bluffs Canopy Tour, SIU Carbondale Family Weekend, Tunnel Hill State Trail, Mountain Bike Trails, Wedding Venue(s), Southern Illinois Hunting and Fishing Weekend and so much more!
This cabin is situated directly on the lake in a quiet "no wake" cove just minutes from the ski area and three local Marinas. Features include: Main living area with 2 bedrooms, sofa bed, 1 full bath, galley kitchen, family room with dining area, fire pit, and covered deck overlooking the beautiful majestic lake.
In addition to the main living area, we also offer a separate entertainment area, with its own private outdoor entrance. This separate entertainment area features a dining table, serving bar, mini fridge, 3 twin beds and one trundle (sleeps 4 in this area) and 1/4 bath. This area is perfect for teens or family fun and is easily accessible from the lake and dock area. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the nearby sun deck and the amazing lakeside views.
Lake of Egypt is great for fishing, grab your pole and fish right off the dock. The dock area has a nice swimming platform and two kayaks. Whether you bring your own boat or rent one from one of the local marinas, there is plenty of room on the side of the dock to tie it up.
If you are traveling with a boat, you may launch and park trailers at any one of the three local marinas. Mack's Lake of Egypt Marina is a short distance form our cabin. Boats, Paddle Boards and Kayaks may also be rented at Mack's.
Not only are we located on the beautiful Lake of Egypt, we are also just minutes from I-57 with lots to do all around Southern Illinois including Zip Line Tours, Canopy Tours, Hiking, Antique Shopping and many great local restaurants. We are close to the Shawnee Hills Wine Trails, Ferne Cliffe State Park, Tunnel Hill State Trails, Shawnee Bluffs Canopy Tour, Giant City State Park and Lodge, SIUC and the Shawnee National Forrest.
